Mark has extensive experience working with business leaders and policy makers to raise awareness and deliver policy change. Mark founded SMG in 2018 as a business consultancy specialising in political and stakeholder engagement with a clear focus on delivering benefits for the UK through its work with local, national and global stakeholders.
Chris McHugh – Head of Public Affairs
Formerly a member of local government and head of office to two MPs, Chris has extensive experience in policy making at local, regional and national levels. Chris joined SMG in 2019 as Head of Public Affairs and leads on SMG’s regional and Westminster political engagement.
Rebecca Johnson – Head of Communications
Rebecca is a CIPR accredited communicator with over a decade of experience working in political facing roles for organisations spanning the private, public and third sectors. Rebecca leads on scoping and mapping exercises for organisations from around the world to recommend and deliver effective and comprehensive communications programmes to influence and inform policy makers.
Christine Volpe – Business Support Manager
Christine is an accounting specialist and manages all aspects of SMG’s day to day financial activities. With years of experience Christine has worked for a number of high profile organisations in the north east in roles spanning payroll, client invoicing and credit control.
Alex Graham – Consultant
Based in the North West of England, Alex is a former political advisor to three Members of Parliament. A lawyer by training, Alex provides strong legislative and political knowledge on national and devolved regional issues, as well as strong links in both Westminster and across the North West of England.
